Sharpness VF30 but covered with fine roughness under rather glossy olive brown and chocolate toning. The highpoints are a lighter shade of brown. There are two parallel planchet voids on the face and another very thin one from the T in UNITED to the first A in AMERICA (all as minted). The fissure on the reverse is exactly parallel with the two on the obverse, so it appears these flaws were stress lines in the rolled copper. The only contact marks are a tiny rim nick at the second S in STATES and a barely visible rim bruise left of the fraction. EDS, Breen state I, with no trace of swelling at NT in CENT. Nicely centered with strong border beads around both sides. The date and legends are bold and the eye appeal of this cent is rather nice in spite of the obvious defects.
