Glossy tan and light brown with darker steel brown toning on the highpoints. Another smooth, lightly worn 1793 half cent. Just a few small marks including a thin diagonal nick or planchet void high on the cheekbone and a faint hairline from the earlobe to the throat. A small puff of reddish steel toning at the top of the 9 can help identify this piece. Scarce EDS, Manley state 1.0, Fuhrman 1, without the die defect at the top of the 7. Our grade is VF30. This is the plate coin for the die state in the 2022 Fuhrman reference The Half Cent Handbook, Liberty Cap Varieties 1793-1797. The attribution is noted on the PCGS label.
