Technically sharper, at least F12 where properly struck up, but a bit dull and covered with fine roughness. Diagonal planchet roller striations show on both sides and there is a shallow delamination on the cheek that catches your eye. No verdigris, only a few small nicks of no significance. Well struck on the right side of the obverse and left side of the reverse, weaker elsewhere. CONNEC and INDE ET are strong but AUCTORI and LIB are weak or missing. The date is complete and bold, just tight to the edge of the planchet. Olive brown and steel with peeps of reddish toning around CONNEC. Die cracks show on both sides and most of the rim cud over NNEC is visible. Struck in near medal alignment (head-to-head). Far from perfect but still one of the finest examples known of this extremely rare variety. At least equal to the Perkins example; missing from Ford. Weight 93.7 grains.
