Slightly glossy dark olive brown and steel. Covered with fine roughness but there is no verdigris. The roughness is strongest near the edge before the knees of the seated figure. The notable marks are dull dents at the I in LIB and to the right of the bottom of the shield. The obverse is slightly misaligned to K-3.5 while the reverse is off a similar amount to K-6.5. The lower half of the 1 is off the planchet but the 788 are clear. This Machin's Mills product is associated with the Connecticut series because it shares the same reverse (Miller Connecticut 1788 reverse D), here in an early die state. The attribution is noted on the PCGS label. (The holder is scuffed.)

AUCTION TERMS OF SALE
1. The highest bidder acknowledged by the auctioneer shall be the buyer. In case of dispute the auctioneer may at his sole discretion reopen a lot. In all cases the auctioneer’s decision shall be final and binding on bidders.
2. The auctioneer reserves the right to refuse to honor any bid which, at his sole discretion, he feels is not submitted in good faith. The auctioneer may withdraw any lot, without prior notice, for any reason whatsoever.
3. All sales are payable in U. S. funds immediately upon receipt of invoice unless other arrangements have been made prior to the sale. Lots will not be released to buyers until paid for in full. Lots delivered in state of sale are subject to all applicable state and local taxes unless appropriate permits are on file with us.
4. Postage will be added to the invoice of all successful mail bidders.
5. A 20% buyer’s fee will be added to all invoices.
6. Please keep in mind this is not an approval sale. All sales are considered final. Sales to the floor may not be returned for any reason save authenticity. Sales to mail bidders are final unless lot proves to have been mis-described.
7. Lots will be available for viewing during the Houston Money Show bourse hours January 17, 2025 and by appointment.

Lots will open at one increment above second highest mail/phone bidder.
