The "Bowed Head" variety. Slightly glossy light to medium chocolate brown with a couple swipes of darker olive brown on the obverse. The only notable contact marks are two very light, old scratches on the lower right part of the eagle. No corrosion or verdigris, but there is some soft dirt around the Indian. The eagle side is stronger than the Indian side but the date is strong and the legends are clear. Only 8 examples of this variety are known today, so it is a real prize for the serious collector of Massachusetts coppers. Our grade is VG10 on the obverse (Indian side) and F12+ on the reverse. See page 59 in the 2023 "Redbook." The attribution is noted on the PCGS label.

AUCTION TERMS OF SALE
1. The highest bidder acknowledged by the auctioneer shall be the buyer. In case of dispute the auctioneer may at his sole discretion reopen a lot. In all cases the auctioneer’s decision shall be final and binding on bidders.
2. The auctioneer reserves the right to refuse to honor any bid which, at his sole discretion, he feels is not submitted in good faith. The auctioneer may withdraw any lot, without prior notice, for any reason whatsoever.
3. All sales are payable in U. S. funds immediately upon receipt of invoice unless other arrangements have been made prior to the sale. Lots will not be released to buyers until paid for in full. Lots delivered in state of sale are subject to all applicable state and local taxes unless appropriate permits are on file with us.
4. Postage will be added to the invoice of all successful mail bidders.
5. A 20% buyer’s fee will be added to all invoices.
6. Please keep in mind this is not an approval sale. All sales are considered final. Sales to the floor may not be returned for any reason save authenticity. Sales to mail bidders are final unless lot proves to have been mis-described.
7. Lots will be available for viewing during the Houston Money Show bourse hours January 17, 2020 and by appointment.

Lots will open at one increment above second highest mail/phone bidder.
