Glossy medium brown and light chocolate. Hints of frost show in some of the protected areas and the eye appeal of this piece is excellent. There is minor chipping in the centers, as usual, plus a few thin planchet fissures. The notable fissures are two short ones up through the bust tip, a tiny one up through the fleuron above the head of the portrait, and a short one over the foot of the seated figure. A thin planchet cutter impression follows just inside the edge of the planchet at the bottom of the obverse. The obverse is slightly off to K-7 while the reverse is centered on the planchet. The date is bold, considerably stronger than the date on the Taylor, Perkins, and Ford examples. Overall superior to Taylor and Perkins, comparable to Ford but this one has fewer planchet flaws. A great example of the variety. Weight 129.9 grains.
