Double Struck. Glossy light olive and steel brown. Smooth with just a few trivial planchet flaws including a couple fine laminations that meander through the chest and knees of the seated figure. There is a curved planchet clip off the right shoulder of the portrait that affects the dentils. The only contact marks are a few rim bruises on both sides, mostly on the left side of the reverse. Late die state with die cracks and swelling on both sides. This piece was struck two times with a shift of about two millimeters between the impressions, and neither strike was properly centered on the planchet. The date is weak and the legends are distorted, a result of the double strike. Weight 141.0 grains.

AUCTION TERMS OF SALE
1. The highest bidder acknowledged by the auctioneer shall be the buyer. In case of dispute the auctioneer may at his sole discretion reopen a lot. In all cases the auctioneer’s decision shall be final and binding on bidders.
2. The auctioneer reserves the right to refuse to honor any bid which, at his sole discretion, he feels is not submitted in good faith. The auctioneer may withdraw any lot, without prior notice, for any reason whatsoever.
3. All sales are payable in U. S. funds immediately upon receipt of invoice unless other arrangements have been made prior to the sale. Lots will not be released to buyers until paid for in full. Lots delivered in state of sale are subject to all applicable state and local taxes unless appropriate permits are on file with us.
4. Postage will be added to the invoice of all successful mail bidders.
5. A 20% buyer’s fee will be added to all invoices.
6. Please keep in mind this is not an approval sale. All sales are considered final. Sales to the floor may not be returned for any reason save authenticity. Sales to mail bidders are final unless lot proves to have been mis-described.
7. Lots will be available for viewing during the Houston Money Show bourse hours January 17, 2020 and by appointment.
