Double Struck. An "ET LIR" variety. Glossy medium brown and light chocolate with darker chocolate toning in protected areas. The surfaces are perfectly smooth except for some microscopic chips at the junction of the neck and jaw. The only notable marks are several light rim bruises on both sides and a dull nick hidden in the hair below the first C in CONNEC. Late die state with heavily clashed dies and strong swelling at CTOR and INDE with minor swelling elsewhere. This piece was struck two times with a slight rotation between strikes and a pivot point at the top of the obverse. Clear, strong doubling is visible on both sides, strongest on the lower half of the obverse and upper half of the reverse. The date is bold and the legends are complete. A superior example of the variety, better than the Taylor, Perkins, and Ford pieces. Weight 128.2 grains.

AUCTION TERMS OF SALE
1. The highest bidder acknowledged by the auctioneer shall be the buyer. In case of dispute the auctioneer may at his sole discretion reopen a lot. In all cases the auctioneer’s decision shall be final and binding on bidders.
2. The auctioneer reserves the right to refuse to honor any bid which, at his sole discretion, he feels is not submitted in good faith. The auctioneer may withdraw any lot, without prior notice, for any reason whatsoever.
3. All sales are payable in U. S. funds immediately upon receipt of invoice unless other arrangements have been made prior to the sale. Lots will not be released to buyers until paid for in full. Lots delivered in state of sale are subject to all applicable state and local taxes unless appropriate permits are on file with us.
4. Postage will be added to the invoice of all successful mail bidders.
5. A 20% buyer’s fee will be added to all invoices.
6. Please keep in mind this is not an approval sale. All sales are considered final. Sales to the floor may not be returned for any reason save authenticity. Sales to mail bidders are final unless lot proves to have been mis-described.
7. Lots will be available for viewing during the Houston Money Show bourse hours January 17, 2020 and by appointment.

Lots will open at one increment above second highest mail/phone bidder.
