Reddish chocolate brown and steel. Covered with very fine roughness, strongest at the top of the reverse where there are many tiny planchet fissures. Lightly worn with no notable contact marks, but there are traces of fine verdigris in a few places. A thin horizontal fissure on the chest of the seated figure can help identify this piece. Later die state but not the latest with die cracks and swelling on both sides. Looks better than it might sound. The date is clear in spite of swelling in that area. The attribution and Long Island Collection provenance are noted on the NGC label.
