Glossy medium tan and light olive with reddish brown toning in protected areas. Most of the planchet is smooth but the head is covered with tiny planchet chips mixed with a few light scratches, and the opposing area at the bottom of the reverse shows microscopic chipping as well. A tiny flake at the rim above the face and another at the rim left of the feet of the seated figure are the only other marks. Late die state with swelling in the field before the portrait in addition to the strong bisecting die crack through the nose. The date is weakened by the chipping but it is complete and easily readable. The legends are strong and the “Snipe Nose” crack is bold. Weight 120.9 grains.
