Rather glossy dark chocolate brown with lighter brown toning on the highpoints of the devices. The surfaces are reasonably smooth but a glass reveals areas of microscopic roughness. No significant contact marks, but there are some planchet flaws (as usual). The notable flaws are a fissure at the top of the head, another parallel one from K-2 to K-6 on the obverse, and a smaller one at the right elbow of the seated figure. The details on the obverse are weaker, as always on this variety. Most of the legends are readable. The lower half of the date is off the planchet (also typical for this variety) leaving only the tops of 786 visible. The sword, hilt, and guard at the right side of the waist of the seated figure are clearly visible. An acceptable example of this very rare and popular type. Weight 131.8 grains.

AUCTION TERMS OF SALE
1. The highest bidder acknowledged by the auctioneer shall be the buyer. In case of dispute the auctioneer may at his sole discretion reopen a lot. In all cases the auctioneer’s decision shall be final and binding on bidders.
2. The auctioneer reserves the right to refuse to honor any bid which, at his sole discretion, he feels is not submitted in good faith. The auctioneer may withdraw any lot, without prior notice, for any reason whatsoever.
3. All sales are payable in U. S. funds immediately upon receipt of invoice unless other arrangements have been made prior to the sale. Lots will not be released to buyers until paid for in full. Lots delivered in state of sale are subject to all applicable state and local taxes unless appropriate permits are on file with us.
4. Postage will be added to the invoice of all successful mail bidders.
5. A 20% buyer’s fee will be added to all invoices.
6. Please keep in mind this is not an approval sale. All sales are considered final. Sales to the floor may not be returned for any reason save authenticity. Sales to mail bidders are final unless lot proves to have been mis-described.
7. Lots will be available for viewing during the Houston Money Show bourse hours January 17, 2020 and by appointment.
