Moderately glossy dark olive brown and steel with lighter brown toning on the highpoints. Extremely fine granularity covers all but the highpoints. No verdigris or contact marks. There are a half dozen small planchet flaws on the obverse and a larger one in the field before the upper part of the seated figure. The date is clear and the legends are strong. Superior to the lone Ford example that was quite granular and had been cleaned. Weight 123.9 grains. Ex Pete Boisvert 2/9/1987-George C. Perkins, Stack’s 1/12/2000:194-Neil Rothschild Collection, Early Cents Auctions 1/23/2021:10 (includes the Rothschild collection envelope and last lot ticket)
