Choice glossy medium brown and light chocolate. Very sharply struck with reflective fields and great eye appeal. The only defect is a tiny speck of crud in the field below the chin. Later die state with microscopic die rust evident on the obverse devices and a very fine die crack through the legend on the right side of the reverse. The repunching on the 7 is clear and there is an engrailed edge device (which is mentioned on the PCGS label but it not visible in the holder). These restrikes were struck circa 1860 by W. J. Taylor in London. Listed on page 78 in the 2023 "Redbook." Our grade is consistent with the PCGS grade. Housed in an older generation PCGS slab. (The slab is scuffed)
