(1652-74) St. Patrick Farthing, Martin 1a.1-Ca.4, Griffee 1-0/1b, Breen-208, R7 PCGS graded F15. Type with "Nothing Below King." Glossy light brown blending to olive brown in protected areas. Smooth and very nice for the grade. The only defect is a small spot of shallow greenish verdigris following the A in FLOREAT. The brass splasher is large but it is offset to the upper left just touching the crown, and the brass is toned a darker shade of olive. The obverse is unevenly struck because the reverse has a large cud break at the top. An impressive die state. Less than 10 are known of this die variety. This is the plate coin for the late state of the reverse in the 2018 Martin reference for St. Patrick coinage. Weight 89.2 grains. The attribution and Martin Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. 915280.15/47375034 Ex John Agre and Dave Wnuck (Coin Rarities Online)-William Anton 2002-Jim LaSarre 12/2009-Sydney F.
